"Use this gentle, evocative color combination on your invitations
to give guests a taste of warm celebration to come.
Then repeat the colors to personalize
other paper pieces and carry the theme throughout."
"Some romances are all fire and ice. Such is the case with eye-catching emerald green -- the shade of the gemstone thought to be favored by Venus, the goddess of love -- and serene aquamarine. The pair look natural almost anywhere, whether playing off each other on a menu card or coloring the blooms on a tie. Lighten things up with notes of white for a look that's effortlessly choreographed and full of flair."
Blue & White
"It's a match made in the heavens. Think dreamy clouds and powder-blue sky, pearly stars on a velvet-blue backdrop. Here on Earth, both hues have long been dear to brides. "Marry in blue, lover be true" was a popular refrain in the early 1800s."
Stripes & Dots
"Couples often think everything at a wedding needs to be white. But using pattern and color is a great way to express your personal style. Polka dots and stripes are so versatile. Dots can be playful, feminine, retro, or sophisticated (think of Audrey Hepburn in a black-and-white polka-dot scarf). Stripes can be preppy, nautical, graphic, or casual (like those on a summer porch awning). With patterns like these, a little goes a long way. Whether you pick one or the other, or use both stripes and dots for an interesting mix, just stick to a few colors that go well together."
